Under the eyes of all, the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano, for almost seven centuries, works daily to allow the symbol of the city in the world to shine in all its infinite beauty, fulfilling a great responsibility. This Great Construction Sites are the symbol of an international industry, evident to the millions of faithful and visitors who annually visit the Cathedral from all over the world.

The last three years, the works have been constant and today it is possible to see all of them in the pages of the “Shipyards of change 2012-2015”, a special ebook now available to download in this page on the website www.duomomilano.it. A volume that gives information about what has been achieved in these years through the most significant images of the interventions.

In these pages, you can go over the great restoration of the Main Spire, with the gilding of the Madonnina. All the operations concerning the spires, the falconature and the Terraces, with the renovation and the waterproofing of the roofs, the cleaning of the interior surfaces of the Cathedral and the revamping of the lighting of the Duomo. Going on the Terraces, any visitor can contemplate with their own eyes the commitment of all these interventions. Among the works undertaken, there are also the re-opening in just nine months of the Church of San Gottardo in Corte, inaugurated May 5, 2015 by healing the wound that marked the Royal Palace, offering a practical solution to a longstanding problem,  and complete the path of the Great Museum del Duomo: 27 halls over 2,000 square meters of exhibition space, recently reorganized. In short,  also the Archive of the Veneranda Fabbrica will return to its former glory, tripled in its space, the Archive has been a day by day diary of Milan for over seven centuries, that will make fully operational the great heritage of the Fabbrica, composed of over half a million documents, thanks to the latest technology.

The Veneranda Fabbrica feels right to make available to the public this story that has seen workers at the highest level to compete with the massive numbers of the Cathedral.
