Documentaries and publications

To film a documentary or educational program or publish scientific/popular works, the authorization of the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo is required. For this purpose, a request form Application-Form-Permits Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano – Via Arcivescovado, 1 – 20122 Milano; tel. +390272022656; fax+390272022419; e-mail: comunicazione@duomomilano.it – specifying the day, time and duration of filming/shooting, the subjects to be filmed/photographed, the type of equipment that will be used as well as the aims of the project.

The Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano reserves the right to issue or deny filming/shooting authorizations. For images and videos, payment of a fee is required and shall be agreed on to the extent and according to the procedures that shall be determined at the time of request by the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano.

All those carrying out photo shoots and/or video filming, whether for publication or for study and research purposes, shall provide a copy of each photo or film to the Photographic Archives of the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano.

STUDY PURPOSES (degree dissertations, school and university projects)

Shooting for study purposes requires the authorization of the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo. For photos and videos taken for study purposes inside the Duomo, a request form  (link to enclosed document “authorization for study purposes”) must be submitted to the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano – Via Arcivescovado, 1 – 20122 Milano; tel. +390272022656/fax+390272022419; e-mail: comunicazione@duomomilano.it – specifying the day, time and duration of filming/shooting, the subjects to be filmed/photographed, the type of equipment that will be used as well as the aims of the project.

COMMERCIAL AND PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES

For photos and videos taken for commercial and promotional purposes or for cinema or television films, it is necessary to send an e-mail to comunicazione@duomomilano.it, specifying the day, time and duration of filming/shooting, the subjects to be filmed/photographed, the type of equipment that will be used as well as the aims of the project.

All those carrying out photo shoots and/or video filming, whether for publication or for study and research purposes, shall provide a copy of each photo or film to the Photographic Archives of the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano.

GENERAL REGULATION
All requests shall be processed within 5 work days starting from the day after the request is sent
Unless otherwise agreed on with the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo, the following is strictly forbidden:
• presence of extras, endorsers, actors;
• interviews with public figures;
• filming on Saturdays, Sundays and during special opening hours of the Duomo and Terraces;

• filming for weddings, christenings and other occasions inside the Duomo or on the Terraces.

To film in the Archaeological Area – Baptistery and St. Thecla – it is absolutely necessary to obtain the authorization of the Soprintendenza per i Beni Archeologici (Archaeological Heritage Office)
