A treasure chest of beauty and ancient secrets to be revealed: all the guided tours of the Duomo for June 2016

The new itineraries and paths of the Veneranda Fabbrica

Beyond the spires of the Cathedral, within the walls and "hidden" under the solemn Cathedral architecture the whole story of Milan reveals itself, from antiquity until today.
Miracle of balance and harmony, created by the feelings of the Milanese people, the Duomo is the most beautiful painting of the city.Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano is the historic organisation responsible for preservation and restoration of the Cathedral. It was established in 1387 by Gian Galeazzo Visconti, then Duke of the city, for design and construction of the Cathedral, and it has been operating for over six hundred years to ensure the preservation and architectural and artistic restoration of the Duomo, safeguarding and providing services for the Cathedral’s religious activity and promoting the extraordinary heritage of art, culture and history which belongs to and is expressed by the symbol of Milan, identifying the resources necessary for its maintenance. The Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo from 1387 takes care of this precious treasure chest of art and faith and committed every day to ensure the preservation and architectural and artistic restoration of the Duomo.Today, just like yesterday, the Educational Services organized by the Veneranda Fabbrica has the sole intention of making the Milanese active spokesmen of their symbol in the world and to involve every visitor in a unique experience not to be missed, imparting them the power and wealth of the identity of the Duomo and Milan itself in every detail.

A walk among the spires, especially at sunset, is a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience. One of the most evocative aspects of the royal Cathedral, a priceless view of the great city, an emotional evening, and an open dialogue with history. The Veneranda Fabbrica offers the chance to go on a one-hour guided tour of this wonder.
