The trial of extended hours for visits to the Terraces of Duomo di Milano are confirmed for summer.
The initiative was launched on 25 April 2018 for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and has recorded the appreciation of both tourists and citizens alike. It allows visitors to admire a unique view of Milan until evening from the most amazing place in the city.
Regarding opening hours from June through September, Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo confirms extension of the service to 7 days a week in July and August to allow both Milanese and tourists to enjoy the experience of climbing up to the Terraces, using either the lift or the stairs, during the season when the sun paints the cathedral’s white marble with a multitude of colours and nuances.
- JUNE - Extended opening hours of the Terraces of the Duomo on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, until 8.00 pm. The last climb will be at 7.10 pm.
- JULY and AUGUST - Opening hours for the Terraces of Duomo di Milano are extended to everyday until 8.00 pm. The last climb will be at 7.10 pm.
- SEPTEMBER - Until 16 September included, extended opening hours of the Terraces of the Duomo on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, until 8.00 pm. The last climb will be at 7.10 pm.
Visiting hours applied today will, instead, remain unchanged from Monday to Thursday in June and on 3-13 September (9.00 am through 7.00 pm. The last climb will be at 6.10 pm), and so will the cost of tickets (starting from € 13.00 / 7.00 to climb by lift, and from € 9.00 / € 4.50 to climb on foot).
For the occasion, Ticket Office 1 - Sala delle Colonne (Piazza del Duomo, 14/a) will remain open until 7.00 pm.
Climbing up to the Terraces of the Duomo offers the opportunity to discover the “a unique and breathtaking view in the world” that deeply moved Stendhal when he looked down at Milan from that forest of spires and statues, which fills the sky to merge into the infinite.
