The Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano continues its commitment to a functional reception strategy that aims at improving the quality of the usability of accesses and services of the entire Historical Complex for millions of tourists and worshippers.
In the last five years, the changing needs of the public and of the necessary precautions deriving from the security measures envisaged by the authorities, have made the Veneranda Fabbrica increase its efforts regarding the management of visitor flow so as to guarantee an ever-better service, both from the point of view of visitor experience as well as for efficiency and optimisation of times and itineraries, without disregarding its commitment to maintenance and conservation projects.
2018 ended with the completion of the complex lighting project, both inside and outside of the Cathedral, which was inaugurated on 20th December last year while the start of this year opens with the continuation of restoration of the Lantern and the Sacristies. Simultaneously, in the coming months, a complex three-year project of extraordinary restoration and maintenance on the Great Organ of the Duomo will begin. The mechanical and decorative parts of the instrument are seriously damaged and are in need of radical intervention in order to safeguard one of the largest organs in the world.
