This year the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo and the city of Milan have once again chosen to present residents and tourists with a concert in honour ofthe feast days.
The concert, scheduled initially for Tuesday 20 December 2016, will be performed within the Duomo on Friday 13 January 2017 at 7.30 pm and will feature a world renown musical ensemble: “I Solisti Veneti”, under the direction of its founder Maestro Claudio Scimone. The group will be performing with FuturOrchestra, made up of young musicians from Sistema Orchestre and Cori Giovanili in Lombardia, and with “I Polli(ci)ni” (the youngest students from Padua's "Pollini" Conservatory).
The concert will be open to the public with free admission subject to availability. Doors open at 6.45 pm.
Both residents and visitors will be able to attend the event in large numbers.
Thanks to this initiative, which features lively and complementary musical talents, an all new and significant alliance will take shape between prestigious tradition and the promising commitment of the younger generation, with a message of openness that is sure to have an emotional impact on the city.
With the involvement of the Sistema in Lombardia, coordinated by the Associazione SONG Onlus, the city's administration intends to adopt as its own the merits of this project, whose mission combines its social principles with cultural awareness, social integration, accessibility, and artistic quality.
The musical program strikes a balance between the more classic repertoire of the Solisti Veneti and a symphonic arrangement suitable to the synergy with FuturOrchestra, the star group of Sistema in Lombardia, bringing together three Baroque concertos and a much-loved Viennese classical piece..
