This day calls to mind the ancient rite of the Delivery (Traditio) of the Symbol of Faith (the text of the Creed, the summary of Christian faith in its entirety) to the Catechumens for them to learn it by heart and thus express their profession of faith before receiving Baptism on Easter night.
During the Vigil in Traditione Symboli, which represents the diocesan celebration of World Youth Day, the Archbishop meets the youth in the Duomo and renews the rite of the Delivery of the Creed to the Catechumens, who will receive the Sacraments of Christian Initiation at Easter.
