- 8.45 pm Diocesan Missionary Vigil and celebration of the Mandate celebrated by His Excellency Monsignor the Archbishop
World Missionary Day
The Christian faith brings with it a mandatory missionary dimension that is well inserted into the last section of the liturgical year, especially for the Extraordinary Missionary Month (October 2019) requested by Pope Francis.
«The Mission is obedience to the Mandate of Jesus […]. This is not a solitary enterprise: it is rooted in communion and can be practised by a fraternity. The intention is to summon the faithful to build the communion of many who become one heart and one soul» (Monsignor Mario Delpini).
On the vigil of the diocesan celebration of the World Missionary Day (Sunday, 27 October), in the Duomo, the Archbishop gives the Missionary Mandate to priests, monks, nuns and lay people who will announce the Gospel in Sister Churches around the world.
