Schola Cantorum Venerandae Fabricae
Established by the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano to promote and support young professionals at an international level, it is an ensemble dedicated to concert performance, grounded in study and research, and recognised for its methodological rigour and the aesthetic relevance of its interpretations, with particular attention to Renaissance repertoire.
Since 2025, the Schola Cantorum Venerandae Fabricae has been featured in a concert series within the initiatives of the “Scuola della Cattedrale”.

Maestro Director of the Schola Cantorum Venerandae Fabricae
Born in Turin in 1967, he was ordained a priest in the Salesian Congregation in 1996. He is the founder and Maestro Director of the Interuniversity Choir of Rome and worked in the university chaplaincy of the Diocese of Rome from 1995 to 2010. He has taught Sacramental Theology, Eschatology, and “Music and Liturgy” at the Pontifical Salesian University, as well as Composition for the Liturgy, Roman Polyphony, and Sacred Music Legislation at the “Guido Cantelli” Conservatoire in Novara within the postgraduate specialisation programme in Sacred Music. He also taught Languages of Music at “La Sapienza” University of Rome, and Liturgy at both the Turin Conservatoire and the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music in Rome. From 1998 to 2010, he served as editor of the liturgical music journal Armonia di Voci, published by ElleDiCi. From 2010 to 2019, he was Maestro Director of the Sistine Chapel Choir, appointed by Pope Benedict XVI and reconfirmed in 2015 by Pope Francis. Under his direction, the Sistine Chapel Choir began recording exclusively for the “Deutsche Grammophon” label and won the 2016 “Echo Klassik” award in the category “Choral Recording of the Year” for the CD Cantate Domino. La Cappella Sistina e la musica dei Papi. From 2021 until June 2025, he served as Maestro Director of the Music Chapel of the Milan Duomo. Under his leadership, the ensemble not only ensured the complete musical service of the Ambrosian liturgy for all celebrations, but also became a regular presence in concert seasons and was invited to Teatro alla Scala to perform the Missa Papae Marcelli on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the birth of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina. Since June 2025, he has served as Superintendent of the Musical Heritage of the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano.
