From today, a special convention with Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana commences for all visitors of the Monumental Complex of the Duomo di Milano. It was founded in 1607 by Cardinal Federico Borromeo “for the universal good”. According to the foundation charter of the Institution, these words sum up the founder’s spirit, confirmed in the papal brief of 1608. From a young age, Cardinal Borromeo developed a love for books and had experimented with the significance of science and art for a new kind of evangelisation by means of dialogue and the study of modern culture.
This was designed to be a centre for study and culture: intended for other institutions to flourish alongside it, such as Collegio dei Dottori, Academy of Fine Arts (l’Accademia di Belle Arti) and Pinacotheca (Pinacoteca). In terms of its vast collection and the value of their codices, the Ambrosiana is undoubtedly one of the most important cultural institutions in the world.
Thanks to an agreed convention with Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano, there is a discount for the complete Duomo Pass (10%) or Fast-Track (20%)* for all visitors of Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana who have bought the full entry ticket to the library and the Pinacotheca. This service is available via Ticket Office 1 – Sala delle Colonne and the Fast-Track ticket office.
All visitors of the Monumental Complex of Milan’s Duomo who have bought a full Duomo Pass or Fast-Track* ticket can purchase the entry ticket at the library and Pinacotheca at the discounted price of €13.00.
The access pass must be presented at the ticket office in order to take advantage of these concessions.
