Alpini in Milan: Changes to the Duomo’s opening times
On 11 and 12 May, access to the Historical Complex will affected
Due to the 92nd National Alpini Assembly, which falls from 10 to 12 May in Milan on the centenary of the foundation of the National Alpini Association in the Lombard capital on 8 July 1919, visitors are informed of changes to the opening times in the Historical Complex of Milan Duomo on Saturday, 11 and Sunday, 12 May 2019.
These orders have been made on the instruction of Public Security Authorities.
SATURDAY, 11 MAY 2019
Duomo, Archaeological Area and the Crypt of Saint Charles
Tickets are suspended from 12 noon, last entry at 12.10pm. Closure of the Duomo at 1pm.
At 4pm (with an initial greeting by the Archbishop of Milan H.Em. Monsignor Mario Delpini), the Eucharist will be held for the National Alpini Association. The service will be led by H.Em. Monsignor Santo Marcianò, Military Ordinariate in Italy. Doors will open for the service from circa 1.30pm. The Eucharist at 5.30pm is suspended.
The Rooftops and the Duomo Museum will be open as normal, without variation to opening times.
SUNDAY, 12 MAY 2019
Duomo, Archaeological Area and the Crypt of Saint Charles
Tickets are suspended all day.
Access to the Duomo will be possible only in the area reserved for Christian prayer and for participation in the Eucharist.
Eucharistic services will observe the usual festive times: 7am – 8am – 9.30am – 11am (main service) – 12.30pm – 5.30pm. Lauds: 10.30am. Vespers: 4pm. Recitation of Rosary: 5pm
Rooftops, Duomo Museum, Ticket Office 1 – Sala delle Colonne, Duomo InfoPoint and Duomo Shop
Total closure and suspension of all services.
All guided tours are suspended.
Those who have bought tickets for 12 May can use them either the day before or the day after.
From 12 noon on Saturday, 11 May, it will no longer be possible to buy Duomo Pass tickets.
Regular access to Milan Duomo will resume on Monday, 13 May.
