The new educational workshop from Milan Duomo is on its way: #PlayDuomo
A new digital activity available for download every Tuesday to learn while having fun
Given the current closure of schools due to the international health emergency, the Educational Department of the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano has created a digital learning project, known through the hashtag #PlayDuomo, which involves all children, from ages 5 to 11, and families by bringing Milan Duomo into your homes virtually.
Starting this week, a downloadable worksheet will be published online on the Duomo's offical site in the "Kids" section every Tuesday. These worksheets will contain a storytelling part and practical activities to do at home with the help of easy-to-find materials.
Some of the topics covered in the worksheets will be:
- The illustrated stained-glass windows
- Gargoyles
- Corbels
- Heraldic coats of arms
- The Baptistery of San Giovanni alle Fonti
- The floral design of the Duomo's floor
- The Gothic style
- The transportation of marble along the waterways
- The Evangeliary of Aribert housed in the Duomo Museum
So, get ready your paper, crayons, coloured pens and pencils and follow us on this adventurous journey to discover six centuries of history, art, architecture and fantasy that will let you learn all about this wonderful Italian cultural heritage!
Will you be able to answer our riddles or find your way to the start of the maze? Learning becomes child's play!
