The Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano is continuing its commitment to providing a functional reception strategy, with the view of continually improving the visiting experience to the Historical Complex, despite the complexity of the historical moment in which we are living.

That situation that arose from the suspension of touristic visits for almost three months due to the pandemic and the following adoption of all the regulations put in place so as to offer a comfortable and safe visit, have led to an increased effort on the part of the Veneranda Fabbrica to organise and improve the services offered, for example with the integration of free digital opportunities and the extension of the reduced-price ticket up to 18 years of age, without neglecting its commitment to the most urgent maintenance and restoration activities.
In fact, there have been many conservation and maintenance interventions that could not wait: the on-going restoration of the Tiburio and Sacristies, and the completion of the complex three-year project on the Duomo Organ, underway since 2019, to which inspections and monitoring are added to guarantee safe access to the Cathedral.

In this sense, even by purchasing a simple tourist ticket, it is possible to contribute to the work of the Veneranda Fabbrica, its worksites, and to its uninterrupted mission, which has lasted more than 630 years. It is an invitation to rediscover the value and the choral nature of a timeless work of art which, in order to continue, needs the support of all those who choose to live in its beauty.

Below is an access and services update that will be in place as of 1 October 2020.
The tariffs in effect until 1 October 2020 will continue to be applied for bookings made by 30 September and relative to visits to be made by 31 December 2020.

CATHEDRAL / AREA RESERVED FOR CHRISTIAN PRAYER

Access modes to Milan Duomo for prayer, services and the Sacraments will not undergo any changes in that they are free, in accordance with the current regulations in place for the prevention of Covid-19.

Those who enter Milan Duomo for prayer, services and Sacraments can do so in a reserved area through a specially dedicated entrance. From 7am to 8.30am every day, worshippers can enter as usual through the Cathedral’s side doors (Piazza del Duomo, Cardinal Martini/Archbishopric side) and, from 8am to 7pm, through the most northernly doors of the façade (Piazza del Duomo, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II side).

VISITORS’ ACCESS AND TICKETS

RELIGIOUS AND SCHOOL GROUPS

EXTENSION OF REDUCED PRICE UP TO 18 YEARS OF AGE FOR ALL TICKET TYPES

TOURS AND FREE CONTENT WITH THE DUOMO APP FOR A COMPLETE VISITING EXPERIENCE

Starting from 1 October 2020, the Veneranda Fabbrica is offering all those who purchase a ticket to visit the Duomo a completely free opportunity: the possibility of accompanying their ticket with the official “DUOMO DI MILANO” app, created in collaboration with D’Uva, available for free download from the Google Play and App Store. From 1 October, the app, which currently costs €4.99 for full access to content, will grant free access to all visiting routes and information for those who buy any kind of ticket. The content includes over 1 hour and 40 minutes of multimedia tours (Façade, Cathedral, Rooftops and Museum) and 85 listening points, accompanying access to the Historical Complex through an intuitive, complete, and engaging tool.

Amongst the various opportunities, the guided tours also allow for the activation of the “Nearby” function, accessing the list of listening points located near the device; the list updates automatically as the visitor moves around. This is all possible thanks to the beacon sensor technology installed throughout the visiting areas, which is able to communicate with the app and detect the presence of devices.
Content is available in 10 languages: Italian, English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese and Korean.
Furthermore, the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano is offering all visitors 30 minutes of free Wi-Fi navigation, upon registration, available in the area surrounding Ticket Office 1 in Sala delle Colonne.
