After the first evening's experimentation on Thursday, 10 June, the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano confirms an extraordinary visiting opportunity with an extension to opening hours, a prelude to the upcoming summer season!
Every Thursday until 29 July, in the season when the colours of the sunset enchantingly tinge the Candoglia marble, visitors to the Duomo can enjoy the opportunity of going up to the Rooftops, in the lift (starting from €14/€7), until 10pm (the last entry will be at 9.10pm). For the occasion, the Ticket Office in Sala delle Colonne (Piazza del Duomo 14/A) will also be open until 9pm.
On the other hand, from 8 to 29 July, on the occasion of the evening opening of the Duomo Museum, it will be possible to benefit from the combined rate for Terraces by lift + Duomo Museum € 14.00 full price / € 7.00 reduced under 18.
Discovering the suggestive panorama over the city is something to experience at least once in one’s lifetime. Visit in complete safety and in compliance with all the health provisions in place, and admire the 135 spires, the numerous ornaments and statues, the Madonnina, and all those precious architectural elements that make the Duomo the most splendid civitas firma of Gothic beauty. The Cathedrals’ Rooftops do not turn off with the fading of the light: the Duomo’s statues at dusk seem to take on life and free themselves from their moorings, “whispering ancient and secret stories into your ears”, as the poet Heinrich Heine observed almost two centuries ago.

The Duomo’s most popular tour, conducted by a professional tour guide chosen by the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano.
The tour starts in the Archaeological Area where the ruins of the Baptistery of San Giovanni alle Fonti, the first octagonal baptistery in Christianity, are found and in the Cathedral which, with its 3,400 statues and 55 stained glass windows, is the most important example of the Gothic in northern Italy. Upon reaching the Rooftops, you will be astounded by the breathtaking views as you walk on the roof of the city just steps away from the sky.
The guided tour, entrance tickets, and whisper/radio-microphone system are all included in the price.
The service is available every day subject to booking on duomomilano.it: please see our calendar.
