Access and services update of the Monumental Complex of the Milan Duomo
From 1 July 2022
The Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano continues its commitment to a functional reception strategy, with a view to constantly improving the quality of the experience of visiting the Monumental Complex.
The situation that has arisen with the tourist crisis caused by the pandemic for over two years, and the consequent adoption of all the rules envisaged in order to offer a comfortable visit with the very recent resumption of flows, have entailed a growing effort on the part of the Veneranda Fabbrica. in organizing and improving the services offered, without disregarding the commitment to the most urgent maintenance and restoration activities. In fact, there are many conservation and maintenance interventions that cannot wait: the restoration works already started on the Tiburio and the Great Organ of the Duomo, to which are added inspections and monitoring to ensure safe access to the Cathedral, represent the crowning achievement of the important recently goals, which - among the various works - have returned to the Cathedral its completely restored Aquilonare Sacristy and a large part of the north transept, finally restored to their original beauty.
Recently, the Veneranda Fabbrica is also intensely working to ensure an increasingly optimal and orderly cohabitation of those who enter the Cathedral for personal prayer and for the tourist visit and to offer a more complete visiting experience, with the aim of further enhance the Duomo Museum: the ideal completion of the journey through the art and history of the Cathedral.
Below is the update of the accesses and services that will apply from 1 July 2022 inclusive, with reference to some rules and regulations.
The rates currently in force will continue to be applied for bookings made by 30 June 2022 and relating to visits to be made by 31 October 2022
COVID-19 REGULATION
From 16 June 2022, it is no longer mandatory to wear a mask for the tourist visit to the Monumental Complex of the Milan Duomo (Duomo - Visitor Area, Archaeological Area, Duomo Terraces, Duomo Museum and Church of San Gottardo in Corte).
However, the use of the masks in the most crowded areas of the tour is recommended.
It is not necessary to present any type of green pass.
Groups must not have more than 30 participants (+ 1 guide / companion); in the event that the visit includes the Archaeological Site (Baptistery of San Giovanni alle Fonti), the participants can be a maximum of 25 (+ 1 guide / companion).
CATHEDRAL / AREA RESERVED FOR CHRISTIAN PRAYER
The methods of access to the Milan Cathedral for prayers, celebrations and the Sacraments do not undergo any changes as they are completely free.
Those who enter the Milan Cathedral for prayer, celebrations and the Sacraments can walk through a reserved area, with a dedicated entrance. From 7am to 8.30am every day, the faithful will be able to access as usual from the side doors of the Cathedral (Piazza del Duomo, via Card. Martini / Arcivescovado side) and, from 8am to 7pm, from the far north door (Piazza del Duomo, on the side of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II).
With regard to Covid-19 legislation, the methods of accessing the Duomo for personal prayer, participation in liturgical celebrations and the Sacrament of Reconciliation follow the Rules issued by the Archdiocese of Milan.
In particular, please note that entry is not permitted for those with flu symptoms or who are subjected to isolation, it is mandatory to sanitize their hands upon entry and the use of suitable personal protective equipment is still recommended.
ACCESS AND VISITOR TICKETS
MILAN CATHEDRAL FOR TOURIST VISIT AND DUOMO MUSEUM
From 1 July 2022, the only access ticket to the Milan Cathedral and the Duomo Museum is in force (including the entrance to the Church of San Gottardo in Corte), set at € 7.00 Full / € 3.00 Reduced. The ticket is valid for 72 hours.
This rate is applied every day except Wednesday (the closing day of the Duomo Museum), when the ticket is set at € 6.00 Full / € 3.00 Reduced.
DUOMO MUSEUM AND CHURCH OF SAN GOTTARDO IN CORTE
In the event of extraordinary closure of the Duomo for liturgical needs or for other initiatives, with the exception of Wednesday, access to the Duomo Museum and the Church of San Gottardo in Corte is always guaranteed at the current rate of € 5.00 full / € 2, 00 reduced.

The tickets in force referring to these categories are confirmed, with the currently valid rates.
CLOTHING
It should be remembered that, to access the Monumental Complex, visitors must be decently dressed. Inside the Cathedral, off-the-shoulder and / or low-cut dresses, shorts, miniskirts, and hats are prohibited. if necessary, please note that at Ticket Office 1 - Sala delle Colonne (Piazza Duomo 14 / A) it is always possible to purchase appropriate disposable Kimonos.
GROUP BOOKING THROUGH THE BOOKING PAGE
We remind you that tour operators and tourist guides who decide to visit the monumental complex of the Milan Cathedral, with tourist, school and / or religious groups, must make a reservation through the appropriate "BOOKING" page of the official website of the Milan Cathedral.
MICROPHONE REQUIRED FOR GROUPS
We also remind you that for all groups, starting from 6 people (5 participants + 1 guide / accompanist), the use of a microphone system (radio-guide) is mandatory. It is possible to reserve the radio guides at the time of booking. Amplification systems, such as loudspeakers or similar, are strictly not allowed.
SUSPENSION OF ENTRANCE FOR GROUPS FROM 9.30am TO 12.30pm ON SUNDAY
We inform you that starting from Sunday 12 June 2022, and for all Sundays, the entrance of groups to the Duomo is suspended from 9:30am to 12:30pm, during religious celebrations: reservations already made will therefore be canceled. We invite you, where possible, to reschedule your visits at the permitted times.

We take this opportunity to ask for your cooperation so that an atmosphere of order and recollection remains inside the Cathedral even during the opening to visitors, certain that this aspect is also important for you and your guests.
