Donations of Goods and Works of Art

“…Without class differences, all flocked to bring their donation for the big endeavour, with material offers of money and stuff…”

these words from the Annals of the Fabbrica del Duomo show how the construction of Milan Cathedral was possible thanks to all those citizens, rich and poor, nobles and not, throughout history who have wanted to participate in the creation of this great work by donating according to their means. The Historical Archive of the Veneranda Fabbrica still preserves the memory of all those who, through donations of money, clothing, food, works and goods of various kinds, have supported this venture.

Even today, as then, it is possible to support the restoration and enhancement of the Duomo di Milano through donations of goods and works of art. With this gesture, it is possible to contribute to the enhancement of the Duomo di Milano and to the enrichment of its important historical and artistic heritage, which does not belong to the Cathedral only, but to all the Milanese citizens and the numerous visitors.

For those who would like to donate works of art to the Veneranda Fabbrica, the Regulation for donations of works of art (annex 1) needs to be read and, if the donation is accepted, the subsequent compilation of the proper Form is necessary. The Form will be provided from Veneranda Fabbrica and it will be returned in two signed copies to Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano – Via Carlo Maria Martini 1, 20122 Milano, or by email to donazioni@duomomilano.it, or by fax at +39 0272022419.
