In the spirit of the liturgy, on this solemnity, we look to Mary as the Mother of our hope. Her song of praise reminds us that God never forgets his promises of mercy.
May Mary’s Magnificat become the song of every man and woman. In this Jubilee Year, we are called to be tangible signs of hope. Each of us has been given the gift and the commitment to bring and sow hope where life is wounded, in the weariness of those who can no longer cope, in the loneliness and suffering that gnaw at the soul, in the long and empty days of prisoners, in the cramped and cold rooms of the poor, in places desecrated by war and violence.
