5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

The Vigil Mass on Saturday, October 24, at 5:30 p.m., will feature the Mädchenkantorei, the women’s choir of Freiburg Cathedral, conducted by Martina van Lengerich.

Mädchenkantorei am Freiburger Münster

Eighty young voices, ranging in age from six to twenty-three, led by Martina van Lengerich, will fill the Cathedral with a program spanning centuries of music: from the ancient charm of Gregorian chant to a cappella polyphony, from great works for choir and orchestra to contemporary sounds.

The Mädchenkantorei am Freiburger Münster, founded in 1973 by the then choirmaster Monsignor Raimund Hug, will therefore make a stop in Italy on Saturday, October 24, 2026, bringing with it a wealth of national and international accolades. Among these are the gold medal at the Verona International Choral Competition in 2014 and second prize at the German Choral Competition in 2023.
Throughout its history, the choir has also collaborated with renowned orchestras and ensembles.
