Photographic Exhibition “Con gli occhi del Duomo”
Veneranda Fabbrica celebrates the profound relationship between Milan Cathedral and photography with a series of initiatives and cultural events. A long story told in pictures starting with the shots preserved in the rich Photo Library of its Archives, consisting of more than 90,000 phototypes taken from the second half of the 19th century to present days.

Salt papers, albumin and gelatin prints with silver salts, glass plates with collodion and gelatin, negatives on film and slides: precious and unpublished testimonies from the past, combined with contemporary pictures that tell about the evolution of photography by the Veneranda Fabbrica, from the origins of the photographic technique to the present day.
The tour ends with a time-lapse video about the evolution of Piazza Duomo from the mid-nineteenth century to the present day. It is a virtual production for historical re-enactment of the Duomo di Milano realized by VideoZone, Technical Partner of the exhibition, starting from the photographic elements of the Veneranda Fabbrica Archive.
