On Thursday 28th November 28 at 3:30 p.m., the MOSAIC Canadian Vocal Ensemble choir will perform in Milan Cathedral for a new special musical appointment in the name of great choral music.

Founded in 2012, the Choir was established by Gordon Mansell, ex-student of St. Michael’s Choir School and now Music Director and Organist at Notre Dame des Sorrows in Toronto.

The Choir, composed of students and attendees of the mentioned school, now features a mixed vocal ensemble and has been featured on numerous American and European tours.

In the last few years, after several concerts in Toronto, Kemptville and Kingston, the vocal ensemble has performed at Notre Dame Cathedral in Ottawa, reaching, in 2019, the Holy Land and Europe as well. The various stops on the Italian tour include Florence, Assisi and Rome.

Under the direction of the now permanent maestro Vincent Cheng, 2024 marks the year of the Canadian choir’s return to Italy with extraordinary new stops in Sicily, Rome, Lucca, Bergamo and then Milan.

Milan Cathedral represents the perfect setting for the twenty voices led by Maestro Cheng and organist Omar Caputi, offering the audience an interesting and intense program.

Selected pages include Agnus Dei (from Missa Locus Iste) by Stephanie Martin (1962), Dark Night of the Soul “Grace” by Jonathan Elias (1956), Sing For Joy by George Frideric Handel and Christus Vincit by Joseph Noyon (1888 – 1962).

The concerti is FREE ACCESS from the façade of the Duomo, through the door reserved for the worshippers (extreme north door, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele side), and seats are subject to availability.

For thos who won’t be able to attend the concert, the musical performance will be livestreamed on the Official YouTube Channel “Duomo Milano TV”.

A unique moment that, once again, will seal Milan Cathedral as an extraordinary epicenter of renowned compositions of the international choral tradition.
