Also for 2024, given the success recorded last year, the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano inaugurates the start of the high tourist season with a rich calendar of events and guided tours on the Duomo Terraces.
The emotion of the evening lights up the Cathedral with extraordinary beauty. And, starting from June 6, 2024, by popular demand, Thursday evenings openings return with musical accompaniment at sunset.
OPENINGS OF THE TERRACES UNTIL 8.00 PM ON EASTER HOLIDAYS, FROM APRIL 25th TO MAY 1st AND DURING THE SUMMER
To celebrate the beginning of spring and on the days of highest tourist flow, Duomo Terraces will close to the public at 8.00 pm, (with last access at 6.30 pm) on the following days and periods:
From Liberation Day to Labour Day
From April 25th to May 1st included
Summer
From June 1st to September 15th, every day, except Thursdays when the special evening opening of the Terraces is scheduled until 10pm.
Ascent is active both with stairs and with lift.
THURSDAYS EVENING OPENING UNTIL 10.00 PM WITH MUSICAL ACCOMPANIMENT
From June 6th to September 12th 2024, every Thursday, when the infinite shades of the sunset enchant the precious pink marble of Candoglia, visitors will have the incredible opportunity to enjoy the majestic spectacle of the 135 spiers and thousands of of statues that populate the walls of the Cathedral, until 10.00 pm.
Visitors will thus exceptionally be able to access Duomo Terraces by lift (€16.00 full price / €8 reduced price) (with last access scheduled for 8.30 pm), to admire the solemn and silent forest of stone, the splendid ornaments and the Madonnina in the most suggestive moment of the day: the sunset.
For the occasion, Ticket Office 3 – Groups Infopoint (Piazza del Duomo, on the facade, right side) will also remain open until 8.30 pm.
An experience made even more enchanting thanks to a special live musical accompaniment which, starting from around 8.30 pm (the time may vary due to seasonal needs), will cheer up the visit of all those present among the spiers of the Cathedral. The notes of numerous artists and musical performers will thus echo on the Duomo Terraces, rising to the sky to welcome the arrival of evening.

EVERY THURSDAY AT SUNSET A SPECIAL WALK AMONG THE SPIRES
To enrich the wide program of initiatives for the summer, on Thursday evening there will also be special guided tours of the Terraces of the Milan Duomo to discover the spiers, the gargoyles and the incredible statuary in Candoglia marble which, like stalagmites of stone, rise towards the sky. A visit to rediscover the sculptural tradition handed down by the mastery of the stonemasons who in the marble workshop dedicate wisdom and care to every artefact and architectural detail that makes the Duomo unique in the world.
To discover this universe of stone and prayer, every Thursday, in conjunction with the evening opening of the Terraces, the Veneranda Fabbrica organizes an exclusive one-hour guided tour, in Italian and English, where you can travel through history and train your gaze on the the infinite beauty of the Milan Cathedral.
For visitors who decide to visit Milan during the weekend, in the summer months, it will be possible to enjoy the Terraces, accompanied by a professional guide of Duomo, also on Saturdays at 5.00 pm in Italian, and on Sundays at 5.00 pm in English.
