This collaboration is aimed at making access methods for visiting the Duomo – a popular destination attracting hundreds of thousands of Asian tourists each year – more accessible, intuitive and international.
Thanks to this agreement, tourists from Asia including China, South Korea, the Philippines, Malaysia and Thailand will be able to visit the Monumental Complex of the Duomo of Milan by more easily purchasing tickets from the official ticket offices through their smartphones. They will also be able to shop for souvenirs or books at the Duomo Shop, as well as access promotions and services using the app they are most familiar with.
The integration of Alipay+ solutions allows the Duomo di Milano’s official ticket offices and Duomo Shop to accept payments not only from Alipay, China’s leading digital payment platform, but also from other leaders in the mobile payment industry in Asia, including AlipayHK (Hong Kong SAR, China), Kakao Pay (South Korea), Touch ‘n Go eWallet (Malaysia), GCash (Philippines) and TrueMoney (Thailand).
Following the reopening of borders and the upswing in Asian tourism, the Duomo di Milano is therefore also ready to welcome travellers in the best possible way: through this simple and unique integration, the Monumental Complex is now able to offer a wide range of payment methods, as well as reach out and interact with consumers through the app they find most reliable and easy to use.
As the number of tourists choosing Italy as their holiday destination continues to grow, the integration of mobile wallets represents a winning opportunity for merchants.
