“Le voci di Dante” nelle chiese di Lombardia
Monday 11 May 2026, 21 PM, in Milan Cathedral
A new, immersive journey through the Divina Commedia comes to Milan Cathedral: on Monday 11 May 2026, at 9 PM, in the extraordinary setting of the Cathedral, Toni Servillo will give voice to the verses of Dante Alighieri, through the original interpretation of the writer Giuseppe Montesano.
“Le voci di Dante”, produced by the Piccolo Teatro di Milano with the support of the Fondazione Monte di Lombardia, is a project of great cultural significance that traverses the symbolic sites of Lombard spirituality, bringing Dante’s great literary heritage into dialogue with the concerns of our time.
Following the special preview at the Basilica of San Pietro in Ciel d’Oro in Pavia, the tour gets into full swing with the spring tour: from 6 May, the words of the Supreme Poet will resound in the cathedrals of Cremona, Brescia and Vigevano, and in the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Bergamo (for information, visit piccoloteatro.org). culminating in Milan Cathedral.
Thanks to the collaboration with the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo, the event on 11 May represents the crowning moment of this poetic and spiritual journey, which celebrates Dante’s language and thought within the unique setting of the Cathedral, the symbolic heart of the city and of the Ambrosian faith.
Bookings for the event at the Duomo will open on 4 May at 4 PM via this page.
The performance will be surtitled in English by Prescott Studio.
Through his performance, Toni Servillo lends his voice and his artistry to a work that continues to speak to us with power and relevance, restoring the Commedia to its living essence: a universal tale of passions, confusion and the search for true love. A unique opportunity to experience Dante’s words in the place that, more than any other, preserves and embodies the spiritual and cultural depth of Milan.
