The spire is located on the south side of the Central Terrace, near the lantern. On the top of the spire there is a 19th century sculpture probably of a martyr saint, which has the characteristics of a neoclassical sculpture, therefore dating back to the early 19th century. He is depicted as a young man with long hair, dressed in a tunic that leaves his chest uncovered and which he holds in his right hand. His left arm is raised and in his hand he is holding an element that is no longer visible, probably a palm, the symbol by excellence of martyrdom, or a sword used to defend oneself from the dangers of life, or even a cross, a Testimony of his faith in the christian religion and of his close relationship with Christ.
We have no more certain information regarding the dating and creation of the statue, but it could be a remake of a nineteenth-century original.
