From today, it is finally possible to admire Milan from the city’s most central point, a unique and privileged location where the gazes of Milanese citizens and visitors have always converged – the Madonnina of the Duomo.
Starting March 22, 2023, the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo officially activates a webcam on the Cathedral’s Main Spire (Guglia Maggiore), situated at an altitude of over one hundred meters, the webcam is active 24 hours a day and accessible via the page webcam.duomomilano.it.
This extraordinary new opportunity, realized thanks to the support of Intesa Sanpaolo, shares all the charm and evocative power of Milan’s symbolic landmark with the world.
Welcoming the arrival of Spring 2023, this initiative serves as a tribute to the Madonnina, which also represents an important civic symbol; Indeed, these days mark the 175 anniversary of the Five Days of Milan (Cinque Giornate), when in 1848 the Italian Tricolour was hoisted for the first time as a sign of freedom on the highest spire of the Duomo.
Live from the Highest Spire of the Milan Duomo, 24 Hours a Day
Installed on the structure of the Main Spire by the expert workers of the Veneranda Fabbrica, right at the feet of the famous Madonnina, the webcam allows viewers to look out over the Milanese panorama. It grants access to all authorized users 24 hours a day, featuring a continuous 220° rotation. This offers an extraordinary occasion to admire the unmistakable Milanese skyline, from the first shy rays of the dawn sun to the flaming lights of sunset.
How to Access the Service
Access to the webcam is available at webcam.duomomilano.it.
To connect, users can choose between two methods: single access or an annual subscription, thereby contributing to the support of the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo and its ongoing restoration works.
Single Access, starting from €2,00, this allows for a single connection session lasting 20 minutes by entering the code received after payment on the webcam.duomomilano.it page.
Annual Subscription, starting from €15,00, this activates the service via a code valid for 12 months with unlimited sessions, by entering the code received after payment on the webcam.duomomilano.it page.
A Window on Duomo Milano TV
In addition, the webcam feed will be broadcast for several minutes every day at 7:50 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Duomo Milano TV, the official YouTube channel of the Milan Duomo, which is active 24 hours a day. This provides a special window to ideally look out from the Main Spire together with all viewers connected online.
