Access for Worshippers

Those who enter the Duomo of Milan for prayer, services and the sacraments can access the church through a reserved area, observing the current provisions on Covid-19 prevention.

Free entry through the side door of the Duomo (transcept of San Giovanni Bono)
Every day:
6,50-8.30am *

Free entry through the façade (north door)
Every day:
8am-6,30pm * (last entry 6.30pm)

* Opening times may be subject to change due to liturgical services in the Cathedral


The methods of access to the area reserved for Christian prayer in the Milan Duomo for personal prayer, participation in liturgical celebrations and the Sacrament of Reconciliation follow the Rules issued by the Archdiocese of Milan on 29 March 2022.

In particular, please note that:

  • Entry to those with flu symptoms or who is subjected to isolation is not allowed.
  • It is mandatory to sanitize hands upon entering and use suitable personal protective equipment, starting with a surgical mask that covers the nose and mouth.
