The Ordinary Jubilee of the Year 2025 in the Duomo

On 24 December 2024, Pope Francis initiated the Ordinary Jubilee of the Year 2025. The Holy Father has decreed that, in the dioceses, the Jubilee will open on Sunday, 29 December 2024, and end on Sunday, 28 December 2025.

Among the Jubilee churches in the Diocese of Milan, there is also the Duomo (Metropolitan Cathedral of Santa Maria Nascente), where the worshippers can experience a moment of renewal and reconciliation with God.

During the Jubilee, the gift of the Indulgence is an experience of God’s mercy through the Sacrament of Reconciliation and participation in the Eucharist.

To experience and obtain the Indulgence in the Holy Year, each member of the worshippers called to make a pilgrimage to the Cathedral Church or other Jubilee Churches, accompanying it with participation in a celebration, the recitation of the Profession of Faith, prayer for the Pope and according to his intentions, and a concrete gesture of charity towards those in need and in trial.

During the Jubilee Year, free access to the Cathedral for the worshippers and pilgrims for personal prayer, for celebrations and for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, follows the usual procedures and timetables, which can be consulted in the Liturgical Life section.
