The Duomo is the Church Cathedral, the seat of the Bishop’s throne and his preferential place. In the Duomo – in the Solemnity of the Nativity of Mary (8 September) – the Archbishop presents the Pastoral course for the entire Diocese and he presides the most significant celebrations of the whole liturgical year. First of all, the solemn chrismal Mass in the morning of the Holy Thursday, the diocesan celebration of the «Corpus Domini», the diaconal and Presbyterian Ordinations, the perpetual Professions of the Religious and the anniversary of the Dedication of the Cathedral (the third Sunday of October). The Duomo is also the place where the Bishops are buried.
