At the Sources of the Duomo: How Did the Marble Used for the Cathedral Arrive?
A journey in the center of Milan to discover, throughout the entire city, the footsteps of the Veneranda Fabbrica, the body that for over six centuries has been caring for the Duomo. From the Quarries of Candoglia the marble travelled along the rivers and the Navigli (the waterways of Milan), up to the wet dock and Via Laghetto, to finally reach Piazza Duomo. The visit will be an itinerary for discovering the history of Milan that still lives in the places touched by the Grand Construction Site.

The Large Stained-Glass Windows of the Duomo Tell a Story…
There are fifty-five of them. They are the largest in the Gothic world and their creation spans over more than five centuries: the stained-glass windows are truly among the most interesting masterpieces of the Duomo! During this breathtaking stroll, we will uncover the stories of the 136 characters that animate them and we will admire the beauty of the lights and colors created by great artists from the Renaissance to present day.

SATURDAY MAY 25th, 2:30 p.m.
The Duomo Architecture: A Reflection of Milan
As the Cathedral was being built, the pure white and flamboyant Gothic of the original design was added to by the many different styles of the Renaissance, the Counter-Reformation and of the 18th and 19th centuries. Did you know that the Duomo was completed only during the 1900s? This is what its unique and inimitable facade tells us.
